Bearing manufacturer: There are two main methods for installing crossed cylindrical roller bearings: hot installation and cold installation. If the bearing sleeve and the device have an interference fit, the cold installation method is used; if the bearing inner sleeve and the shaft have an interference fit, the hot installation method is used. So, what are the precautions for installing crossed cylindrical roller bearings? What are the relevant inspection points?

 1. Precautions before installation


  (1) Crossed cylindrical roller bearings must be installed in a dry and clean environment. Before installation, carefully check the processing quality of each part of the cylindrical roller bearing. All mating connection surfaces must be carefully cleaned and deburred, and the original surface of the casting must be cleared of molding sand.

  (2)Before installation, clean it with gasoline or kerosene, dry it before use, and ensure that the cross cylindrical roller bearing is well lubricated. Usually, the bearing is lubricated with grease or oil.


  (3)Before installing the cross cylindrical roller bearing, perform dynamic and static balancing first. Since the cross cylindrical roller bearing is installed on the rotor for dynamic and static balancing, the iron filings generated can easily enter the bearing.


 2. Notes during installation


  (1) For cross cylindrical roller bearings, apply equal pressure on the circumference of the ring end face to press the ring in. Do not hit it directly with tools to avoid damaging the cylindrical roller bearing.


  (2) When the interference fit is small, the end face of the cross cylindrical roller bearing ring can be pressed at room temperature with a sleeve. The sleeve can be used to hit the sleeve with its head to press the ring evenly into the sleeve. If a large number of cross cylindrical roller bearings are installed, a hydraulic press can be used. When pressing in, ensure that the outer ring end face is pressed against the sleeve shoulder end face, and the inner ring end face is pressed against the shaft shoulder end face, and no gap is allowed.


  (3) When the margin is large, the cylindrical roller bearing can be installed by oil bath heating or induction heating. The heating temperature range is 80-100. But it should not exceed 120. At the same time, the bearing should be fastened with nuts or other suitable methods to prevent the cross cylindrical roller bearing from shrinking in the width direction after cooling, causing a gap between the shaft collar and the shaft shoulder.


 3. Notes after installation


Bearing manufacturer: After installation, the crossed roller bearing should be tested for rotation. It should be used on the rotating shaft or bearing box first. If there is no abnormality, it should be run at low speed and no-load. Then the speed and load should be gradually increased according to the operating conditions, and the noise, vibration and temperature rise should be detected. If any abnormality is found, the vehicle should be stopped for inspection. It can only be put into use after the test runs normally.

  1. Check whether the matching requirements of the crossed cylindrical roller bearings are the same as the load and speed requirements.


  2. Measure whether the fit of the crossed cylindrical roller bearings exceeds the standard.


  3. Bearing manufacturer: Determine the heating method according to measurement and calculation to ensure the oil gap of the crossed cylindrical roller bearing and the temperature cannot exceed 300-400. Pay attention to the wind direction and it should not be heated by open flame.


  4. Adjust the axial clearance of the crossed cylindrical roller bearing and pad the outer ring.


  5. Use a feeler gauge to measure the oil clearance of the crossed cylindrical roller bearing. Considering the influence of on-site temperature on the cylindrical roller bearing, adjust the oil clearance of the oversized crossed cylindrical roller bearing under the actual load (eccentric load) as much as possible.


  6.Bearing manufacturer: Check whether the rotating part and the fixed part of the crossed cylindrical roller bearing interfere with each other.
